Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Future Stack Reviews handles information when you read the website, contact us or subscribe to our email newsletters.

The short version. Reading the site, sending an inquiry, subscribing to a newsletter and using a membership account involve different information and choices. A business inquiry does not itself subscribe you to marketing emails. Sponsorship does not buy access to private correspondence or subscriber lists.

Who we are and what this policy covers

Future Stack Reviews is an English-language AI and SaaS publication operated by 合同会社Future Stack, a Japanese limited liability company based in Osaka, Japan. The company is responsible for the handling described here. Its address, representative and wider privacy framework are available in the Company Privacy Policy.

This policy covers the public website, correspondence and email newsletters, including FSR Brief. Registration, sign-in, Saved reading, Watch and account closure have a separate Membership Privacy Notice. Membership-specific storage and retention rules apply to those functions.

If an inquiry develops into agreed production or corporate services, information needed for proposals, contracts, delivery, billing and related records is also handled under the Company Privacy Policy and the agreed scope of that work.

For questions about this policy or your information, email [email protected]. You do not need a membership account to contact us.

Information we collect and why

Our policy is to collect and use only the information needed for the purposes explained here.

Correspondence. When you contact us, we receive the details you send, which can include your name, email address, company, message, attachments and relevant links. A mail link opens your email app; clicking it does not itself send your message to FSR.

We use correspondence to respond to inquiries, assess proposals, investigate corrections or disputes, and follow up on agreed work. Please send only information relevant to the request. Do not send passwords, access tokens or sign-in codes. If a matter requires other sensitive or confidential information, contact us first to agree on an appropriate channel.

Subscriptions. An email subscription involves your email address, the subscription choices you make and records needed to manage that subscription. Newsletter delivery and measurement are explained below.

Cookies, preferences and analytics

Cookies and similar technologies can support requested functions, browser preferences, security, measurement and referral attribution. Browser storage used for a display preference is different from information sent to a measurement service.

The website includes Google measurement components and a Cloudflare analytics component. Measurement services can receive technical and visit information. Their handling depends on the service, configuration and applicable consent requirements. This policy does not describe all measurement as anonymous or claim that declining cookies prevents every network request.

You can use your browser settings to limit or remove cookies and other stored website data. Blocking storage can affect functions you request. Browser controls do not necessarily remove information already received by a service, control email tracking or change another website’s settings. Contact us if you need details about a particular technology or privacy choice.

Email newsletters

When you subscribe to a newsletter such as FSR Brief, we use your email address and subscription choices to manage the subscription and send the messages described at signup. A membership account is not required. Contacting FSR or creating a membership does not itself subscribe you to marketing emails.

Subscription records can include a signup or confirmation record, preferences, delivery status, bounces, complaints and unsubscribe requests. Email services can also measure engagement. Where open or click measurement is used, records can include when a message was opened or a link was followed, and can be associated with the recipient’s email address. The information involved depends on the service and campaign settings.

Newsletter services may change over time. The website currently links to a Hostinger Reach signup page. This does not mean every newsletter function or future mailing uses the same provider. A provider change does not renew your marketing permission or cancel your unsubscribe choice. Changes to the purpose, recipients or tracking are subject to applicable notice and consent requirements.

To stop receiving a newsletter, use its unsubscribe option or contact us about the subscription. Limited opt-out records may need to remain so that your choice can be respected. Unsubscribing, closing a membership account and requesting deletion of information are separate actions.

Advertising, affiliate links and external content

FSR welcomes relevant affiliate partnerships, sponsored projects and paid placements. Payment and affiliate compensation do not purchase a favorable independent conclusion or a change to independent recommendation order. Research tiers describe the work actually performed; payment or access alone does not earn a deeper tier. Our Disclosure Policy explains the commercial and editorial boundaries.

We do not sell reader contact information, inquiry messages or correction requests to advertisers, vendors, brokers or lead-generation partners. Paying for sponsorship or a placement does not, by itself, authorize disclosure of private reader or inquiry records.

An affiliate or advertising link can pass referral information to a network or vendor and lead to that service’s own attribution or measurement. A sponsored article does not, by itself, mean an advertising tracker is installed. External providers explain their handling in their own privacy notices.

Following an ordinary external link takes you to another service. Embedded media or widgets can contact their provider while the page loads, before you click the content. A link and an embed therefore have different privacy effects.

Service providers and international processing

Service providers support website hosting, security, measurement, email and related recordkeeping. A provider can receive information needed for the function it performs. That access is different from selling an inquiry or giving a sponsor access to a subscriber list.

Selected services and their privacy information:

These entries identify selected services used on or linked from the public website, rather than a complete provider inventory. See the Membership Privacy Notice for membership providers and the Company Privacy Policy for the broader company framework.

Future Stack operates in Japan. Service providers can process or access information in other countries, depending on their infrastructure and arrangements. A website’s hosting location does not establish the location of every copy, support operation or provider. Contact us for information about the relevant providers, countries and applicable safeguards for a particular request.

Our Methodology discusses AI assistance in editorial research. It does not authorize uploading private correspondence, subscriber records or customer materials to an AI service. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or where permitted and necessary to address fraud, security incidents, legal claims or the rights of others.

Retention and security

Retention depends on the record and its purpose. Relevant factors include whether an inquiry or dispute remains open, obligations relating to agreed work, legal recordkeeping requirements, and the deletion and backup arrangements of the service involved.

  • Contact and correction records: retained as needed to handle the matter, follow up on agreed work, resolve a correction or dispute, and meet relevant recordkeeping duties.
  • Commercial records: proposals, contracts, delivery and billing records also follow the company’s applicable contractual and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Subscription and opt-out records: support delivery, subscription management and respect for an unsubscribe request. Stopping delivery and deleting every related record are different operations.
  • Technical records and backups: have separate retention and deletion arrangements. A deletion request does not necessarily remove every related backup immediately.

The Company Privacy Policy describes the company’s security and provider-supervision framework. No website, email system or storage service can guarantee absolute security. Ask us about the retention or safeguards relevant to your information; membership-specific periods are set out in the Membership Privacy Notice.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can contact us to ask about your information, request access or correction, or ask for deletion or other rights available under applicable law. Depending on the law and circumstances, these can include restriction, objection, portability or withdrawal of consent. Withdrawing consent does not change the lawfulness of processing already carried out on that basis.

Email us with the subject Privacy Request. Describe the information or service involved and the action you are requesting. If possible, use the email address associated with the relevant inquiry or subscription. Please do not send identity documents in your first message.

This opens your email app. We may request information reasonably needed to locate the record and verify the request. We handle requests in accordance with applicable requirements and deadlines. If a legal or other applicable limit prevents us from fulfilling a request in full, we will explain the relevant reason. You can also raise a complaint with the privacy authority available under the law that applies to you.

Children. FSR is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has supplied information, contact us so we can review it and remove it where appropriate. The separate membership eligibility rules do not impose an age restriction on reading the public website.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when its explanation or the relevant handling changes. Material changes to purposes, recipients or measurement require the notice and, where applicable, consent required by law. An update to this page is not, by itself, your consent to a new use of your information.
